Aerospace Conference

Student Design Project Competition 2011

A. Submission and Acceptance
The competition is open to individuals or groups of undergraduate students who have conducted a design project. To enter the competition, the paper should be classified as a 'student project' at submission. Submission is only possible through the project supervisor. Submission procedures, paper processing, publication guidelines and the important dates are the same as for regular conference papers (see call for papers" on the web site). The front page of the paper should list the names of all those who were actively involved in the project, including the supervisor.

B. Presentation at the Conference
The presentation will be made only by the students who took part in the project. The number of presenters is optional, but the total presentation time must not exceed 25 minutes. This limit will be strictly enforced to allow five minutes for questions from the evaluating committee and the audience.

C. Evaluation
The evaluating committee will include persons from industry and academia. The winning project will be chosen based on the following criteria:

  1. Innovation
  2. Practicability
  3. Creativity
  4. Substantiation of the key assumptions and of the entire concept.
  5. Style and clarity of the paper and the presentation.
  6. Response to questions at the end of the presentation.
D. Prize
Each of the students taking part in the winning project will receive a personal prize of 800 NIS. Should the number of students exceed 12, each will receive an equal share of the total 9600 NIS prize.
